The important thing to understand about these forums, online communities, and blogs is that fans of your company who are customers in love with your products or services are the same people who are – or are influencers on – your potential employees.

When it comes to talent acquisition, a company’s employment brand is a potential game changer, but is often overlooked.

Today, the internet and the rise of social media are providing an incredible opportunity for companies to advertise how great they are to potential employees as well as to customers.  The great thing for small businesses is that these free strategies can even the playing field with corporate giants whose brand is a household name.

Blogging is an easy way to start for any size company.  Creating an open forum for “fans” to discuss your company, products, and services will drive organic search relevance and in-turn have a positive impact on your company’s perception among your prospective employees.

Using Facebook to create a fan page is another way to advertise as well as organically build your brand for an incredibly low cost compared to return on investment.

It’s not just about “brand” any more.  “Employment Brand” has become a separate but incredibly important and powerful tool for small businesses to invest in.

Where is the talent that can positively impact your business?  Once you know that, it’s time to get in front of them with a strong message about your company.

Social Media like Facebook Fan Pages and blogging are a great, cost-effective way to create, enhance, and market your employment brand.
