Dholakia and Silvia Vianello write in depth about the importance of taking advantage of the rise of social media, online communities and forums, and blogs to allow fans to discuss what they like and dislike about your company – and yes, if they are participating in the forum, they are “fans” – anything negative should be viewed as feedback to help make your company better for the customer.

The important thing to understand about these forums, online communities, and blogs is that fans of your company who are customers in love with your products or services are the same people who are – or are influencers on – your potential employees.
